The ADJ Protégé XL Moving Head Fixture represents the pinnacle of ADJ’s new Protégé Series. The Protégé XL is a flagship moving head spot designed to meet the demands of today’s creative lighting designers. Combining cutting-edge LED technology, precision optics, and a comprehensive suite of creative tools, it delivers an impressive 20,000 lumens of crisp, high-impact output. Powered by a 450W white LED engine with a 7000K colour temperature, this luminaire produces bright, even projections that retain their sharpness and definition across its 4.1°–45° motorized zoom range, making it equally at home delivering wide GOBO projections or smooth, vibrant washes.

The Protégé XL’s colour and effects systems have been engineered to unlock maximum creative potential. Its disc-based CMY colour mixing and variable CTO allow designers to blend and fine-tune hues with precision, while a dedicated colour wheel with six dichroic options provides instant access to bold, saturated looks. Two independent rotating GOBO wheels, each loaded with seven replaceable glass patterns, expand the fixture’s textural possibilities, while dual overlayable 6-facet prisms (linear and circular) and a dynamic animation wheel make it easy to generate everything from subtle movement to dramatic aerial effects. Medium and heavy frost filters are also on board, allowing the creation of soft-edged wash output

Three-phase motors provide lightning-fast movement with extreme precision, while 360° continuous rotation allow the creation of impressive movement effects. Built with the rigors of touring and professional installation in mind, the Protégé XL features rugged pan/tilt locks to prevent unwanted movement during rigging and transit.

Operational flexibility is further enhanced by the Protégé XL’s comprehensive control and connectivity options. It supports DMX, sACN, and Art-Net protocols via 5-pin XLR and RJ45 connections, while the integrated Aria X2 wireless management system offers reliable cable-free control and remote fixture configuration. An NFC interface built into both the base and display allows for quick setup using a compatible smart device.
