1. Work out your operating area, including any buildings or structures you may need to consider when using two-way radios.
2. Work out how many two-way radios you need, and how many channels you’d like available to you. For smaller events, you may prefer to have all your staff or crew on one channel. For larger events, it may be better to provide the production crew, security and first aid with their own channels.
3. Choose your headset type; either over-the-ear (D loop) or noise cancelling headsets.
4. Choose from private (PMSE) or standard hire frequencies for your system. Standard hire frequencies are free and available to anyone, however these frequencies are shared with others, therefore you may encounter interference. PMSE frequencies are purchased for the duration. of your event and provide dedicated channels for your event.
