Firecheck™ Flame Retardant Spray 5 Litre is the trusted, professional solution used by theatres, venues, and event companies across the UK to keep fabrics compliant, safe, and performing night after night.

Firecheck™ is a tried-and-tested, water-based flame retardant spray developed to treatnany water-absorbent material; from theatrical drapes and starcloths to scenic flats, costumes, and soft furnishings, making them dramatically more resistant to fire. Once absorbed into the fabric, Firecheck™ forms an invisible protective layer. When heat is applied, that layer transforms into an inert, carbonised shield that reflects heat away and prevents the combustion gases that fuel and spread fire from escaping.

Firecheck™ dries completely colourless and odourless, leaving no sheen, no residue, and no change to the look or feel of your fabric. Your fabric looks exactly as it should under the lights.

One litre of Firecheck™ covers between 10 and 12 square metres, making it a highly economical treatment even for large-scale venue dressings. Firecheck™ is supplied ready for use — no mixing, no measuring, no guesswork. Simply apply and allow to dry.

Firecheck™ works on most natural and synthetic fabrics including cotton, wool, nylon, cotton-back draylon, and mixed fibres such as cotton/polyester. It also treats paper and cardboard effectively.

Please note: Firecheck™ is not suitable for waxed cardboard, plastics, waterproofed fabrics, painted or varnished surfaces, or rip stop nylon, as these materials will not absorb the treatment. Always test a small, inconspicuous area of any new or unusual fabric before full application.
